University of Wollongong partners with MIP  to develop prestigious Luxury Brand Management programmes in the Middle East
The partnership will be formally acknowledged at an event held at MIP on September 14

Today it has been announced that the University of Wollongong and Politecnico di Milano’s Graduate School of Business (MIP) will partner to develop new postgraduate programmes in luxury brand management in the Middle East. With the Middle East representing a big opportunity for luxury brands, this collaboration will take a closer look at the overall management of luxury brands and the influence on emerging luxury markets in Dubai and other shopping capital destinations such as Milan, Paris and Geneva. The intention is to create programs that offer professionals in the luxury brand industry a distinctive experience and knowledge in the overall management of luxury brands.  

The University of Wollongong was the first foreign university to open in Dubai and continues to be its largest foreign university. University of Wollongong Dubai (UOWD) is the most prestigious and forward-thinking tertiary institution in the Middle East with a  curriculum and teaching practices that reflect the University of Wollongong Australia which constantly ranks among the top 2% of universities worldwide.

MIP Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business has been recognized as a prestigious business school for over 30 years, attracting graduates interested in a managerial career in business and in public administration as well as companies wishing to enhance their organisation and strategies. 

It is envisaged that the programs created for UOWD will be in a part-time intensive mode format to accommodate the busy schedules of working executives. It is also envisaged that the programs will include travel to the most prominent luxury shopping capitals in the world with experiential components that include factory tours, meetings at luxury brand headquarters, visits to foundations and exhibitions and mystery shopping. 

 Professor Alex Frino,Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Strategy) at University of Wollongong Australia said “UOWD is excited to partner with MIP Politecnico di Milano to explore the development and future of Luxury Brand Management in the UAE.

We anticipate that the degrees will be significant for executives across all luxury categories including fashion, jewelry, automotive, travel, food and wine”.

Also Professor Andrea Sianesi, Dean at MIP Politecnico di Milano, underlined the importance of this strategic partnership as he said “We’re pleased to partner with the University of Wollongong Dubai (UOWD) to develop new postgraduate programmes in luxury brand management in the Middle East. Indeed, this collaboration offers to MIP both the chance to gain useful insights on education in the Gulf Region and to create new synergies in the field of Luxury Management.”

 The partnership between UOWD and MIP Politecnico di Milano will be formally acknowledged at an event to be held at MIP Politecnico di Milano on September 14. The event will be attended by University of Wollongong Global Brand Ambassador Mr Adam Gilchrist and Mr Santo Versace, President, Gianni Versace SpA.
