DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED ACCORDING TO THE CODE FOR THE PROTECTION OF PRIVACY

Decree law n°196[1] dated 30 June 2003 (“Code for the protection of privacy”) protects the confidentiality of personal information and imposes obligations on those who handle such third party data. One of the most important legal requirements is that of informing the data subject and obtaining their permission to handle their personal information. 

Whereas the data handling will be carried out following the principles of correctness, legality and transparency and in the protection of your privacy and rights,  in view of the above and, as per Section 13, we would like to inform you therefore of the following:
a) information provided by you will be used exclusively for the following purposes: promote and organise the educational initiatives of Consorzio MIP and organise events; select participants, design and implement training courses; evaluate the preparation of participants; promote a team spirit and document activities of the class and/or the Community; promote the realisation of stage work and project work; support the employment and further employment of participants; stipulate agreements with hotels, companies, organisations and institutions, to allow participants to benefit from favourable economic conditions and/or make use of their structures and services;
The information supplied will be handled both in printed and electronic form, manually and/or using electronic or automated methods. In particular, for the purposes cited above, apart from paper documents, information may be handled in the form of photos, recordings and images, both digital or otherwise;
b) the supplying of personal information not required for legal and/or contractual purposes is optional; 
c) whereas communication to third parties does not exempt the data controller from supplying this documentation and from asking for consent, we wish to state that, as well as communications to persons whose right to access such information is recognised in law or by an order from the authorities, or in the case of funded projects, communications to the bodies appointed to pay out the funds, to the controlling or certifying bodies, information can be communicated in Italy or abroad to the following: Politecnico di Milano; possible partners in the realisation of training courses; Companies and professionals; Recruitment companies; Bodies and Institutions; Banks and Credit Institutes; Insurance companies; Brokerage firms; Experts; third parties to whom you have given a mandate; Consultancy and Service companies; Associations of old participants to the courses or those that promote cultural and technical aims; third parties whose right to access such information is recognised in law or by an order from the authorities. Regarding the environment in which the data can be diffused, we wish to clarify that personal information (including curricula, recordings and images) of the participants can be placed on the institutional website of Consorzio MIP, on social network sites (Facebook, Twitter...), on paper or digital publications, brochures and other methods of communication such as, for example, CD and DVD and other multimedial devices.
Personal data may be handled by persons qualified as responsible or in charge of handling the information, as per Section 4(1g) of the Code (teachers, company witnesses, professionals, legal advisers, financial advisers, consultancy and service companies, companies providing hardware and software assistance...) and also by people in charge of handling data as per Section 4(1h) who operate under the direct authority of the data controller (employees and/or various collaborators). 
d) At any point in time, you can exert your rights towards the data controller, according to Section 7 of the Decree Law 196/2003, which is included in full for your convenience, by addressing the person responsible for such queries according to the following:

1. A data subject shall have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning him exist, regardless of their being already recorded, and communication of such data in intelligible form.

2. A data subject shall have the right to be informed:
a) of the source of the personal data;
b) of the purposes and methods of the processing;
c) of the logic applied to the processing, if the latter is carried out with the help of electronic means;
d) of the identification data concerning data controller, data processors and the representative designated as per Section 5(2);
e) of the entities or categories of entity to whom or which the personal data may be communicated and who or which may get to know said data in their capacity as designated representative(s) in the State’s territory, data processor(s) or person(s) in charge of the processing.

3. A data subject shall have the right to obtain:
a) updating, rectification or, where interested therein, integration of the data;
b) erasure, anonymisation or blocking of data that have been processed unlawfully, including data whose retention is unnecessary for the purposes for which they have been collected or subsequently processed;
c) certification to the effect that the operations as per letters a) and b) have been notified, as also related to their contents, to the entities to whom or which the data were communicated or disseminated, unless this requirement proves impossible or involves a manifestly disproportionate effort compared with the right that is to be protected.



4. A data subject shall have the right to obtain:
a) on legitimate grounds, to the processing of personal data concerning him/her, even though they are relevant to the purpose of the collection;
b) to the processing of personal data concerning him/her, where it is carried out for the purpose of sending advertising materials or direct selling or else for the performance of market or commercial communication surveys.
