The School of Management

MIP is part of Politecnico di Milano’s School of Management, together with the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering (DIG).

Through its two constituent bodies – DIG and MIP – the School of Management delivers an end-to-end portfolio of services in research, education and high-level consultancy within the field of management, economics, and industrial engineering.

Affiliations, Accreditations, Rankings

In 2007, the School of Management achieved the prestigious EQUIS accreditation (European Quality Improvement System) and joined the circle of 140 leading business schools accredited by EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development).

In 2009, the School was included for the first time in the Financial Times’ ratings of top European Business Schools. 

Throughout its history, MIP has always been known for the quality and excellence of its programs, and over the years, it has developed lasting contacts with leading national and international institutions for management training accreditation.

In March 2013, the School has received accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) for achieving what AMBA describes as the highest standard in Postgraduate Business Education for EMBA and MBA programmes.

This accreditation establishes the School MBA programmes firmly amongst the best in the world and informs employers of the high standards of its graduates.
AMBA’s accreditation is internationally recognised as the global standard for all MBA and EMBA programmes.


DIG - Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering

The Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering (DIG) of Politecnico di Milano was established in 1990 as an evolvement of the Department of Economy and Production (DEP).The Department’s main objective is research, which is pursued through collaborations with leading Italian and international schools and institutions.

Alongside research, the Department focuses on education. DIG has the responsibility within Politecnico di Milano for teaching the specializing courses that can be studied in the Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering curriculum. It also underpins a wide range of other courses offered by Politecnico di Milano.

DIG is the centre for the Doctorate of Research in Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering (DRIG), a training path for research in the fields of management, economics and industrial engineering.
