Finance

In the Finance area, MIP has positioned itself as a centre having specific skills to face the problems of innovation and management in the banking, financing, and insurance sector: in this context it examines not only management topics regarding credit institutions (and more generally, financial institutions), but also financial management items focused on non-financial companies, by means of high-level training projects and applied research projects.

Excellence in this area grew out of an acknowledged need of banks and companies to find solutions designed to be integrated with the growing complexity and rapid evolution of the context in which they operate.
Using its particular skills MIP’s highest-priority is to develop competitive solutions specifically dedicated to professionals who are skilled to handle, with adequate aptitude and tools, the challenges and opportunities offered by the credit and financial markets.
This target includes, both professionals within credit institutions and those working in non-financial companies, but requiring skills in managing financial problems.

Healthcare

Healthcare Projects in MIP have mainly a dual purpose: the diffusion of management skills and methodologies in hospitals in order to support their complex and changing processes, optimisation of resources, improvement of service quality and patient satisfaction; providing support to companies that supply services and products to the healthcare market. In both cases, MIP Healthcare provides a mix of focused theoretical and applied methodologies and introduces companies to innovative ways of keeping in touch with hospitals, while basing all courses – standard and tailor-made – on a deep knowledge of healthcare organisational processes, technology assessment, policies of clinical risk management, etc. BBraun, Becton Dickinson, and Smith & Nephew have chosen MIP as a well-established partner for their educational programmes.

iFEEL

iFEEL laboratory dedicated to Human Capital Management in Vendor ICT companies. This laboratory can cover all the support activities for Vendor ICT companies that plan and deliver programmes for the recruitment, training and development of talents.

The starting point is the structural changes that the ICT Vendors Market is going to experience over the next 5 years in relation to the off-shoring of software developers, the hardware-software commoditisation process towards integrated software-service solutions and the growing strategic role of ICT for the success of user companies.
The real challenge for Vendors will be to create future ICT executives, who must become more multicultural, more focused on key account management, more creative and more flexible in order to respond quickly to different situations.

INTsight

INTsight is a platform of integrated services to help the company in choosing the most suitable country and in deploying the most correct activities for internationalizing with the right partners. It is addressed to Italian SMEs interested in going abroad, and to foreign companies interested in approaching the European market.

The project is rooted in the following assumption: "Entrepreneurs and young talents need systemic support when they approach foreign countries characterized by significant cultural diversities".
Hence, the platform has the following objectives:

  • Manage the whole knowledge value chain: from the business idea to its implementation by means of training activities and business advice
  • Financially support all those actors who do not have enough resources to sustain the intended initiative
  • Transform (innovation) ideas into sustainable business practices
  • Create useful links between universities/business schools and entrepreneurs

Lean Excellence Centre

Lean Excellence Centre is an initiative carried out by Politecnico di Milano to study and promote Lean approach, the most important organisation and managerial innovation of the last decade, with the objective of going beyond its deceptive simplicity and deeper into its innovative and distinguishing aspects.

MIP Corporate Division projects customized paths within the context of Lean approach, on the basis of the needs of individual companies or a very small number of companies with similar needs.
The mix of topics, the study cases illustrated, the problems highlighted, the techniques and tools shown are all chosen appropriately for each individual case.

Luxury & Fashion Management

In response to an innovative approach based on Marketing, ICT Management, Supply Chain Management, Design and Innovation and New Product Development applied to the Luxury & Fashion industry, MIP created an excellence centre, with the goal of analyzing in depth training needs and customising specific training paths for companies working in this sector.

Their continuous research, and consultancy experience in this industry have generated many different learning initiatives such as Luxury Management Innovative Programme (LMIP), E- Fashion Programme, Italian Style – creating and communicating luxury branded experiences – and the International Fashion & Luxury Committee, a research and training centre, involving a pool of companies and a network of international business schools in China and Russia, that studies emerging trends and management strategies in the fashion and luxury industry.

Management Academy for ICT Executives

Management Academy for ICT Executives is a cultural programme in which MIP places CIOs and ICT Executives side by side in their requirements for training and professional development brought about by the increasing importance of digital technology in business.

ICT is assuming an increasingly important function in every organisation.
However, the people who make decisions must also have the skills and knowledge necessary to analyse these technologies critically. In order to face this training and developmental need Management Academy for ICT Executives offers a series of initiatives, laboratories and paths aimed at: managers who work in the ICT head offices of companies operating in every field; managers of businesses with management responsibilities for innovation projects using digital technology; managers and company professionals who work in various segments of ICT services and solutions.

Multicultural & Diversity Management

Multicultural and Diversity Management is a discipline that minimizes the negative impact of national and organizational cultural differences while at the same time exploiting and benefitting from those differences, turning them to strong competitive advantage, with results that have clear direct positive impact on the P&L.

Various research studies have proved that cultural difference is the single element that can make the implementation of internationalization plans either impossible or very costly. Our exclusive tools guide managers in the use of a virtuous circle to manage cultural differences so as to achieve short and long term positive results.

The methodology we have developed classifies managerial activities along cultural dimensions, providing reference models for people with international responsibilities, to guide them in implementing international projects while optimizing their resources. Our involvement supports all management activities undertaken by individuals and multicultural teams. The training approach is practical, immediately actionable and based on real life cases.

Open Marketing e Web 2.0

Marketing models are going through a phase of deep change and are moving towards co-creation logic and multi-channel brand experiences. The change is very general and it effects the entire business model of companies, which are becoming more customer centric and where not only marketing, but every function, becomes a part-time marketer.

Web 2.0, social network, Mobile, Mobile Internet, QR Code, Digital Signage, eBook, Augmented Reality (AR) etc. are technologies that simplify life for the consumer, but often make things more difficult for companies.

MIP has always studied the winning dual concept of technology and marketing, within the wider context of analysing changes in consumption trends, where consumers look for a wider and deeper experience with a brand and are actively involved in the process of creating value. With this in mind, we are able to carry training programmes, realized specifically for companies, professional groups and business units.

PM Academy

MIP today is the principle school of Project Management (PM) Italy, with a long experience matured within the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano in three areas: research, training and partnerships with companies.

MIP can transfer to companies the type of cuttingedge knowledge that can only be acquired through continuous research and international collaboration, translating it into training courses, using the experience it has acquired from the organisation of numerous training programmes, of different levels of learning (from basic to advanced), length (from some days to 18 months for Corporate Master courses) and target (from new employees to senior managers).

PM Academy faculty has very wide-reaching abilities that range from strictly technical and methodological skills in planning and control, to legal competency in management contracts, and from organizational competencies to soft skills.
