On March 18th and 19th, MIP Politecnico di Milano hosted the final boot-camp of the CleanTech Challenge Italian Chapter . The €5’000 prize was awarded to five MBA students from MIP, who then flew to London to represent Italy in the final stage of the competition.
Elena Sopadzhieva, Alejandro Iniguez Torres, Gabriela Albornoz, Nícolas Zamoner and Carla Buda came up with FoodMe, an innovative mobile app designed to tackle the food waste issue.
How does it work? It is very simple: you have to register products on the app through its voice recognition technology or automatically, via supermarket loyalty cards. Then, FoodMe suggests you personalised recipes based on the expiry date of the food already present in your fridge.

On April 20th-22nd, the final boot-camp took place in London, at the London Business School.
Our students challenged teams from renowned universities, as Harvard, Wharton, Imperial College, Uppsala University, Université Catholique de Louvain. Unfortunately, FoodMe did not win, but the project was highly appreciated by venture capital and CleanTech exponents.
We are waiting for fresh news from our team, so stay tuned!
