This year, for the first time, QS assessed the Masters in Management, Business Analytics and Finance and compiled the QS World University Rankings by Program, released in companion with the QS Global MBA.
In particular, the Business Analytics ranking examines a new highly sought after area, previously unexplored by major rankings publishers.
Indeed, we are pleased to announce that the International Master in Business Analytics and Big Data (BABD) - jointly offered with CEFRIEL and in partnership with IBM - ranked 20th worldwide.
A remarkable result, as Professor Vercellis – BABD Director – explains:
We are very proud of this achievement, which is due to several factors: the quality of our faculty and staff; the interdisciplinary nature of our project, which properly blends machine learning, management and technological skills; the highly talented participants selected from tens of countries. As business becomes increasingly data driven a new generation of data science experts is an imperative need: we think BABD is suited to accommodate these high expectations.
BABD – now at its second edition – is an innovative program, which aims at training a new generation of data-savvy professionals. Thanks to the support of companies and international partners, theory and practice are deeply interlaced, offering a holistic educational experience to students.
An approach students seem to appreciate, as Zeeshan Qureshi – BABD 2017 – explains:
My Master was one that has definitely broadened my horizon and gave me a platform to launch my career in the direction I wanted. The course has a perfect blend, which helped me develop business acumen and technical know-how. To top it off, I have secured an internship in a fast-growing start-up in Milan with a lot of support from the Career Development Office of MIP.
Indeed, employability, just as diversity and the Alumni outcomes, is one of the indicators that QS took into consideration to compile its ranking. In particular, there are three areas where BABD achieved good scores: value for money, employer reputation and though leadership.
Considering the “Value for Money” indicator – that takes into account the return on investment and the average payback period, BABD performed above the Region average, while the “Employer Reputation” score was above both the regional and the global average.
BABD did well also in the “Thought Leadership” category, with a performance above the global average.
We are ready for the Big Data revolution. And you?
