The International Master in Luxury Management is a 12 month Master’s programme on offer from MIP Politecnico di Milano and Neoma Business School, that seeks to instruct students on managerial topics relevant to the Luxury Management industry, awarding students with a MSc. and a Specializing Master Degree upon successful completion.

The Luxury goods industry deals specifically with the desire for excellence and the exceptional, and has shown in recent years to be an exceptionally resilient industry. Largely due to growing demand in the Asian market and relatively consistent demand from traditional markets, the luxury industry has continued to display promising growth trends in clear contrast to the performance of comparable industries over the last few years. However, in spite of this, the field of luxury management is largely not covered by traditional studies in managerial theory. MIP Politecnico di Milano and Neoma Business School have come together to fill this void.

Programme Details

The International Master in Luxury Management is a 12 month programme, with students dividing their time between studying in Reims, the capital and largest city of the Champagne region in France, and Milan, one of the world’s premier fashion centres.
The course, taught entirely in English, will teach students the importance of combining traditional managerial practices and theories with concepts and methodologies needed to meet the needs of the modern luxury goods industry. This requires superior and outstanding craftsmanship, excellent and cutting edge design skills, unique customer experience delivery throughout all interactions with customers, and the building of a strong meaning through branding. 

For most international specializing masters, MIP offers an intensive Italian language course during the first week of classes. Students have then the opportunity to attend a standard Italian language course (up to 40 hours) along the semester.

Course Structure

The course is evenly divided between studying in Reims and Milan. Because of this, students are able to study the operational procedures of both countries, and learn the various methods and practices used in the management of luxury goods and services companies for each country.

Course Objectives

The programme seeks to teach students the fundamentals of operating in the Luxury goods industry, with a specific focus on enabling students with a managerial background to gain keen senses and attributes that will enable them to assume broader tasks and responsibilities unique to the luxury brands industry.
These are achieved through a number of formative and hands-on approaches, including:

  • Teaching and instilling the fundamentals of luxury management, with special attention paid to the supplementation of skills and knowledge essential to luxury brand management and so not typically taught in conventional management studies.
  • Providing outlets for students to get in touch with key players in the industry, allowing for the  development of meaningful connections and networking opportunities.
  • Providing students with opportunities to gain working experience in cooperation with luxury based companies to assist in the progression of working aptitude and skills.

MIP also offers Personal Development workshops to help students develop the soft skills necessary to be competitive in nowadays job market.
