Here are some of the most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) we receive from prospective students interested in our Global Executive Master in Operations and Supply Chain Management.

Who is eligible for the GEMOS Programme?
The GEMOS programme is open to working professionals with significant working experience in either operations or supply chain management, or a closely related field, and who are looking to broaden their knowledge and understanding of operations and supply chain management. 

How long is the GEMOS programme?
The programme is 12 months long, divided into a series of 6 short modules performed at MIP Politecnico di Milano in Italy, and EADA School of Business in Barcelona Spain, as well as a week-long exchange module in China.

In what language is the programme taught?
The programme is taught in English at all three locations of the programme. 

Do I need to speak Italian or Spanish before starting the programme?
No, as the medium for the course is English, students are not required to speak  Spanish or Italian. 

How many students are in the programme?
The class size for the programme is maximum of 20 students, in order to grant a personalized and customized service and learning experience. 

Is there an age limit for the programme?
No, but the programme is ideally suited for working executives with on average 5 years of experience in a related field.

What is the application date to apply for the programme?
The final application date for the programme can be found on the GEMOS Admissions page. Candidates should regularly check the website so as to be aware of any changes to the admissions deadline. 

How can I apply for the GEMOS Programme?
To apply for the GEMOS programme, please follow the instructions on the GEMOS Admissions page of our website. Make sure to stay aware of the deadlines for each year. 

Does the GEMOS programme have a letter of recommendation form?
There is no specific form for the recommendation letters; however they must be typewritten, printed on a letterhead, and contain a signature and official stamp.

What kind of CV is requested for the application?
Applicants are requested to submit their updated Curriculum Vitae in any format.

I am not a native English speaker, but I have completed my studies in English. Do I still have to submit English proficiency test scores?
No, for students who have completed their studies in English, a statement from your University stating that the medium of instruction was English is enough. IELTS and TOEFL are not necessary. 

Do I need to sit the GMAT to apply for the course?
No, the GMAT is not necessary for the course, although if you have already sat the GMAT you are encouraged to include it in your official application.

How long does the admissions process last, and when do we know the final decision?
Admissions are processed quickly and successful applicants will be notified of their admittance to the program via email, at an appropriate time following the submission of their application.

What is the cost of the programme?
The programme costs  € 16,500 for the entire 12 month period. Travel and accommodation expenses are not included, however dedicated logistic support is provided and special rates are available.

Are there any scholarships available?
There are several scholarships available to students, with some scholarships open to all applicants, whilst others are specifically designed for applicants based on individual circumstance. Please visit the scholarships page of the GEMOS or write to gemos@mip.polimi.it for more information. 

How can I apply for a scholarship?
To apply for a Scholarship you should contact GEMOS Admissions Office to receive the Financial Aid Request Form, select the type of scholarship suitable for you and write a motivation. The assignment of the financial aid will be communicated together with the communication of admission to the Master, after successful outcome of the selection interview. 

Can I apply for loans?
While MIP itself does not offer loans, we have explored some loan options for our students, so please contact gemos@mip.polimi.it for further information.

Will I have to buy textbooks?
No, you will be provided textbooks by the programme, with the cost included as part of the overall programme fee.

What is the cost of living in Milan?
The cost of living in Milan is comparable to many other European capitals. We recommend that students foresee around 800 to 1200 euros per month, however these costs will vary depending on each person’s personal spending habits.

Where is MIP located in Milan?
MIP is located in the north-west of Milan at the Bovisa site, a brand new campus just 2 trains stops from the centre of Milan. It is also well serviced by buses and trams.

Where can I stay during my studies?
MIP has a range of agreements with various residences around Milan, each with fast and easy access to the Bovisa campus, or we can assist you in finding short term private accommodation. Visit the International Students Officepage to find out more.

 

Can I visit you and talk in more details with someone about the programme?
If you would like to have a campus tour and meet with our representatives personally, please contact us at gemos@mip.polimi.it. We will be happy to arrange a time to see you on campus or alternatively arrange a Skype / phone info-session.

Can I sit in on a lesson?
Yes, just ask us in advance to arrange a time. Usually there is no problem in attending a lesson, however there are certain times of the year that are not always suitable for this.

Can I contact you over Skype?
Our recruitment representatives are happy to arrange a time to speak with you over Skype. Contact gemos@mip.polimi.it to arrange a call.

How can I contact current students or alumni in my area or future industry?
We are happy to put you in contact with our alumni. We ask that you send us a copy of your curriculum vitae so that we might find someone with similar experience or background for you to speak with.

Am I able to speak to any Admissions Representatives in my country or region?
Admission representatives and alumni regularly travel the world attending Masters fairs, in order to meet with students and answer questions about our programmes. If you would like to speak to an Admissions Representative in person, visit our GEMOS Events page.
